The Dallas Business Broadcast is Coming
I built my early sales career as a young man in Dallas - Fort Worth Texas in the technology sales arena. From the early through the late 90s I spent a lot of time at Business Mixers, Chamber of Commerce Meetings and other places where professionals gathered. During that time I learned a lot form the various professionals I met and a great deal from the speakers at these events. Like most sales professionals though I had a job to do and a quota to meet and spent a lot of time traveling. With all this traveling I never got the chance to hear a lot of great speakers that area events offer. It was during that period of my life that I began to conceive of what has now become the Dallas Business Broadcast.
Right now the designers are still working on the site itself and there is nothing but a place holder on the domain with our first few podcasts. Unlike the podcasts we will start doing this month the initial ones are just Mark Barrera and I discussing topics like Site Design, Blogging and Analytics. We did these initial broadcasts to provide a resource to local businesses who want to understand the basics of new media marketing and as a way to work the kinks out of our production process. We are very pleased with our initial results and are will move to full production over the next 14 days.
We are now ready to start hosting Podcasts with guests discussing different aspects of business, marketing and other issues that are important to the business community of DFW. While I am sure we will have many listeners and even guests from outside of the North Texas region, we see this new podcast as a gift to the local business community. A new way for people to connect and improve the DFW Business market that all started as a simple idea so many years ago. The fact is in 1995 the only way to put this together would have been on conventional radio, today the internet will allow us to use the Podcasting format and that will allow many more people access to the show both as guests and as listeners. Radio shows are static, the show is broadcast and then it is gone. Our podcast will build a huge library of on demand information from some of the most successful business people in the North Texas Region and for that matter from around the world.
We should have the site fully launched by Oct 21, 2007 and we will be seeking guests we already have a few tentative commitments. To give you an example of the type of guests we will be bringing on the show here are a few people we have already discussed appearances with. Ryan Knowles of PlugIM will be on at some point to discuss Social Networking, Josef Katz of Trump University has offered to provide some Subject Matter Experts in various areas. On the local seen we will be doing a show with local networking master Howell Dodd to discuss the value of networking and lead groups and we have a variety of other guests we are locking down arrangements with. We even hope to bring on a few elected officials to talk about legislative issues effecting business in DFW.
If you would like to suggest a guest or be considered as a guest just send me an email at guest @ dallasbroadcast.com and I will get in touch with you about your suggestion.
