Custom Domains on Googles Blogger

Google announced about a week ago that you could now use your own custom domain on your blogger blog for free.  Set up seems pretty simple.

The most complicated part for people that do not generally know how to host a web site will be changing the DNS for your domain name,  Google gives detailed easy to follow instructions for how to do all of it, here.

This is really nice for the people that want the easy to use drag and drop features of Blogger with out having to publish via FTP.  Most such people will be publishers who simply blog and don't manage normal websites.

I have a sneaking suspicion that your top level domains will rank better in google then dot blog spot does due to the massive about of spam domains on blogspot.com

Of course you will still want a site on blog spot if for nothing else to capture and redirect traffic from MSN search which seems to be willing to rank anything well on the blogger domain.
