No more Google adSense or Yahoo Publisher ads

Well I gave it a shot and ran both Google adSense and Yahoo Publisher on our blog in rotation using the Dax Plugin for WordPress.  The results were abismal and while the TOS on both programs will not allow me to tell you what the CTR, (click through rate) was let me just say it was very low.

Now I am not like some of the touchy feely purists that think advertising on a blog is evil or anything like that.  In fact I run other blogs were adSense and or Publisher do quite well.

This is also nothing against the Dax adSense Injection plugin.  In fact I love that plugin and it has helped me to monitize a lot of other blogs.  In fact for testing adSense and Publisher on your WordPress blog it is simply phenomenal and I find it to work flawlessly.   It just seems our readers on this blog are not the right audience for the ads being served or at least not right for serving them injected into the post.

So they are being removed for the same reason you would remove any element of a site.  If your users don't use a feature, give it the axe and find something that is more benificial to them.  Oh and if it matters while both preformed poorly in this test, Yahoo did produce both a higher CTR and more money in this test, which is not normally the case in my past experience.
