		<description>John,

I am actually going to be doing a full post in response to your question. Short answer is to try to look at your efforts with "fresh eyes". Try to see every page you make like a total outsider who just found it via google, a link or what have you.

What would it say to you that way? What would you be prompted to do? Is that your real goal as a marketer? If not adjust it so you are more apt to gain the results you want.

Also try always and I mean to always capture data, here is one creative way to make that happen,

I will try to answer more in depth next week with a full post,

		<description>Jack,

This is a very good observation and is something I've recently been thinking about.

I don't come from a sales background, well, not formally. I've done lots of selling, but I've never been formally trained in setting up processes and moving people through a sales funnel.

My background is technical and I've been a programmer, systems analyst, systems admin, and so forth.

I'm teaching myself marketing, and it just feels like I'm going about it all wrong.

This posting hits the nail on the head for me. I've just been trying to drive traffic through to affiliated merchants and haven't really been building my own sales process.

It's going to be difficult to change, as you noted, but it feels like something that needs to be done.

Do you have any more advice on how to approach this?

Act on your dream!
