The Mr. SEO Podcast
Recently I had to opportunity to listen to a podcast at Mr. SEO who provides a Search Engine Optimization Podcast which is free to download and listen to. After a pleasant opening jingle I heard the voice of host Joe Balestrino and at once figured he must be from New York City based on the classic accent. His site had no address on the contact us page but checking his area code revealed I was correct as 718 is the area code for Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island.
So I sat back for the about 15 minutes listening to his show from January 1, 2007. Most of the information in this podcast was fairly basic focusing on anchor text and link building including some tactics to avoid and trickery to watch out for.
Part of the reason for the basic level of this podcast was due to the fact that it was a show answering listener questions. What I did take note of is the answers were definitely accurate and easy to understand and it was clear he was giving his listeners what they wanted. He also gave some great advice about a common mistake, which is users who make to many modifications at one time.
In other words when you make changes to a page you should make one change, wait to be indexed and not make more modifications until gaging your results. While again this is a pretty basic concept I have seen many people make this mistake.
I will be listening to more of Mr. SEOs podcasts and one thing I was impressed with is his show is currently ranked number one on Google for the term "seo podcast" and that is certainly a ranking many people would like to have. The site also has a pretty good forum and a good selection of articles and interviews.

I used to listen to it, but feel that it is more for the beginner crowd. Also, they can sometimes wander off and just be talking about nothing. I do think that Mr. Seo knows his stuff though.

I am just about to join a SEO company in the UK and needed to get up to speed quickly on SEO basics and current issues on SEO and internet marketing. Mr SEO has been a great help and given me a very good insight into the industry. I will definitely continue to listen to his podcast.
