What Google will give you that eTrade won’t
I have an eTrade account for doing some basic trading of stocks. I am no day trader by any means but at some times I spot an opportunity and like to roll a bit of risk capital with out the guidance of my financial adviser. Of course to buy and sell stocks you need to know how much the current price of the stock is.
Thing is when I look at the price of a stock in my etrade account what I am actually seeing is the price of the stock from 20 minutes ago. Of course if you are investing for the long haul but many traders demand more real time data for making those quick buy and sell decisions.
Well now you don't have to wait 20 minutes for those updates any more of pay for the higher end account because now Google Finance offers real time stock quotes for free. I think this is a smart move by Google and next time I need an update on a stock price, I know where I will be heading.

hey, you can just opt-in for real time quotes if you have an etrade account, even the most basic one

Hmm, did not know that. I don’t day trade as I mentioned and the last time I was doing any trading that was intraday sensitive you had to upgrade to get real time quotes.
Glad they added it, they should! I guess I have not paid enough attention to eTrade recently because investing in my marketing and sites seems a lot less risky then trading stocks. In any event thanks for the info.
